Rinvenuti presso un gruppo di 9 scheletri, sono sicuramente tra gli orecchini più particolari restituiti dall’area vesuviana.

Su di una struttura a canestro in filo e lamina d’oro sono intrecciate le piccole perle, a loro volta infilate su di un filo d’oro.

Found in a group of 9 skeletons, they are certainly among the most particular earrings returned from the Vesuvian area. Small pearls are intertwined on a wire and gold foil basket structure, which are in turn strung on a gold thread.

E’ tra i tipi più diffusi, chiamato da Plinio il Vecchio crotalia per il rumore prodotto, urtandosi tra di loro, dalle perle in movimento Da una barretta orizzontale pendono, a ciascuna estremità, una o più perle.  

Rinvenuti presso lo stesso gruppo di scheletri che ha restituito i precedenti orecchini a canestro.

It is one of the most widespread types, called by Plinio il Vecchio "crotalia" for the noise produced by the moving pearls when they collide. One or more pearls hang from a horizontal bar at each end. Found at the same group of skeletons that yielded the previous basket earrings.
